Security and laptop data - K.I.

The safest way to travel is to erase sensitive data on you laptop. Here in the US your gadgets are now inspected in the airport. They have the right even to access your hard disk. Last month a US court ruled that border agents can search your laptop, or any other electronic device. They can keep it for days if they want. The reason in holding and messing with your gadgets are they are “searching for pornography, unlicensed program and many more”.  Of course when you have corporate data with you they also will search them. Solution?  One is encryption. Of course that is not 100 percent guaranteed. They have the tools too to open it.  Second is for you to erase all sensitive data on your hard drive and deposit it in a safe virtual repository and later on download it and last do not bring your laptop, trust your memory. But this is the hardest one.
