Fascist military mafia in Malacanang with Gloria at the helm - K.I.
The government of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is unmasked one more time. The pressure is damning strong coming from the United Nations rapporteur Philip Alston who had concluded that the government and Macapagal Arroyo is liable to the murders and assassination of activists in the Philippines. Expectedly Gloria’s barker dogs are the one that is doing the defending and justification for her killings, providing the smokescreen. As an excuse GMA adopting Ferdinand Marcos favorite propaganda line that is the communist is doing it. Top to bottom her propaganda machinery had been spinning this lie. Her spin doctors trumpeted the lie that Gloria is the good choice and that her killing policy is a sign of political will. Nonetheless, her moronic barkers, like Norberto Gonzales, Raul Gonzalez and all her bulldog fascist generals has all to say that Alston report is not true. The silence of Gloria by letting her fascist Generals speak defines in fact that our country is now under the control of the fascist military Mafia. Gloria now is installing a fascist state by passing the Anti- Terrorist act which is at the core give her enormous reason to suppress the dissent of the people against her fake rule. Now his butcher General Palparan, the butcher General that Gloria love will run as a congressmanopenly death squad organization called Nationalist Alliance for Democracy under the auspices of Jun Alcober and Cerge Remonde. Now the number of killings has reached the toll of 830 victimizing church people, journalist, party list members and activist and mere ordinary people against her rule. As days pass by, we see the tag of war that between the oppressed and the oppressors. I hope in the long run, the people’s legitimate struggle will prevail, for just wages, genuine land reform, human rights, peace and justice.
One thing that surprises and not surprise me is the fact that when I see the demographics of Pino'ys here in California specially the northern area here in the Bay area, I see the interconnection of military bases as one of the determinant in the development of Pinoy communities. In Vallejo alone there are about 45,000 Filipinos living in the area. I have learned from my friends in Fairfield Presbyterian Church that Filipinos used to work in this area at Mare Island where a big naval shipyard is located though has been closed. This is the area or ship area where nuclear submarines where built.
Two weeks ago I had the occasion of spending my time at Fairfield Borders Bookstore, 3 hours sitting inside the bookstore killing time since I had a meeting in church at 7 in the evening. I went to my favorite section which is computers and read a lot about designing websites, abobe photo shop and many more. I also went to a section where featured books were history of places in the Bay Area. I saw a book written by a Filipino using old pictures in a Methodist church archive. This is quite interesting for me since before the war the Methodist took hold of Northern Luzon with their agreement on unity and comity, dividing major islands in the Philippines with each mission area handled by a specific denomination. I am not surprised when the mailmen here in Marin area where I live mostly are Filipinos living in Vallejo around 35 minutes drive via Highway 37 cutting through Sonoma/ Napa route. Many of them I interviewed used to work in Clark and Subic. Some have their grandparent worked in the Mare Shipyard near Vallejo who came in the US as plantation farm workers previously working in Hawaii Pineapple farms, came here and settled in the Stockton area and later migrated in Vallejo. Old pictures, yes, mostly are archive of the Methodist. One time I even attended a huge gathering of Fil-Am Methodists at Solano Community College whereby many Filipinos are studying. This college is just near my internship site.
The other day, I went with my pastor distributing brochures in the neighborhood, brochures of our church. It was indeed an exciting moment wherein I discovered that many Filipinos live in the area. I even meet a Sillimanian who told me upon getting close to his garage to give him a leaflet said I know you! Indeed he knows me because I was a classmate of his sister in high school who was a popular archer, a member in the Silliman archers varsity. I was happy to see him and knowing the fact that there are many Pinoy’s in the area, many are working as nurses in the adjacent Vallejo area. At anyrate, my pastor told him I will be preaching in his church and had invited him.ell, the world is really small after all.
