Gloria justify her strong grip over her coersive state machinery -K.I.

I went home 4 in the morning monitoring what had happened in Manila Pen. PDI and GMA TV online were giving new feeds in the internet. Indeed it was a short lived protest. I had mixed feelings though especially seeing KMEin that event. I once met Jaime Regalario in 2003. He was invited to talk on the state of the economy at our AMRSP forum. Back then I was dismayed because being with the Rural Missionaries of the Philipppines and sitting with other mission partners, events such that forum should have been discussed especially who are to be invited.. But we where sitting there having no clue were these people came from. I saw Fr. Oca from OFM in the forum and if I recall it right, seated beside him was SK Roxas. After the forum since I have to go to another convent, Jimmy gave me a ride on his van. I had this mixed feeling because I never liked SK Roxas. He was the one who got millions of pesos for an NGO in Negros in the 80's purportedly developing bio-diversity zones or communities. That NGO was a flop and in fact helped embelish or refurbish government's image. Jimmy presented his organization as KME, but I was not impressed by his analysis. While he discussed the national bourgeosie's role, he never gave the central idea of land reform as the central theme of the national agenda together with national industrialization. I did have a hunch that this guy does not like natdems. Anyway he was cordial enough for us to give us a ride with with Inday from TFUC. My experience is, it has always has been a struggle for us working with the AMRSP with some nuns close to Jimmy's group. They always make it a point to bypass organizational decorum and processes and even circumvent it.

Reading the newpaper this morning with Bishop Tobias telling the public that he had no clue what he was in did not surprise me. It was a familiar incident. In 2002 I had this experience with some of the religious. They were invited for a church prayer at St. Peters, a church near Congress. It was the State of the Nation address. A march rally was to take place. The nuns went there to join the prayer at St. Peters however they where asked afterwards to join the march by Sanlakas and other groups. It became traumatic for them because some old nuns had to run and some were hit by police trancheons. They said that was never part of their plan to join that march. Being part of doing organizing in the open mass movement, I would not do or dare such things to be done, anything beyond the person's capacity. Many of these nuns were Martial Law veterans but they are already old. They cannot run like us when the police starts dispersing peaceful rallies. I do not know how Bishop Julio Labayen managed to get out of Manila Pen. How I wish I could talk personally to Sonny only to tell him, next time he does a protest, he should coordinate with national democratic organizations. KME, Sanlakas and other grouplets do not have the mass base. Doing a protest yesterday needs mass based support running in thousands or millions.. Gloria Arroyo’s did only use the incident yesterday consolidate herself further her political power,.using the event as raison de etre to justify her strong grip. She now tries to justify her coersive state machinery's policy of fascism. While Sonny and his group failed to boot out Gloria, he was very successful enough in internationalizing the issue. Of course we in the international community has escalate the level of political work following General Danil Lim's laying down of political basis why Gloria should go.

Gloria must go - K.I.

All Filipinos now should support Senator Trillanes, Danilo Lim, former Vice President Guigona and all the rest calling for the fascist and corrupt  president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to resign. There is no way out for the Philippines to renew itself but to oust Gloria. Senator Sonny Trillanes is right in marching to Makati. People wants a young military leader like Sonny call for civil disobedience. Gloria’s cabal are planning how how to stick their buts in Malacanang. The US embassy had  signaled their political position indirectly. In matter of hours the political situation will escalate. I hope the masses will support this initiative. The balance is now tilted in favor for the people. GMA must go.

Gloria told to dismantle and sack members of her IALAG, her dirty tricks department, responsible for all the murders and killings in the Philippines - K.I.

The Alston report sends a strong message to Gloria. Gloria should hid the call of the United Nations findings.That what had caused these extra-judicial killings is her counter-insurgency program called Operation Freedom Watch or Oplan Bantay Laya. Party list organization like Bayan Muna had called her to follow the recommendation of the Alston report to dismantle the IALAG that she created. She also has to surface all those who has disappeared and sack those responsible line Ermita, Gonzales, Esperon and all the rest who are operating behinds the scenes. They have been responsible to demonizing legal party organizations as fronts of communist which gives the militarist in Gloria’s cabal to conduct killings, abductions and torture.

Opposition has a broad range. They differ in their calls. The level can be categorized into three. One, groups that are calling for her impeachment, another, calling for her resignation and third for her ouster. All the three have different agenda how to manage post Gloria scenario. Others bats for a caretaker government or civilian rule take over headed by Chief Justice Reynato Puno, other seem to see what configuration will happen as soon Gloria is out of the equation. However such discussion and difference on what to do divides the group. What is needed is a broad united front get rid of Gloria. Seems that some church leaders again has this messianic tendency that they alone can change things. What is important actually is to unite the broadest range of people and use that unity against the narrowest target. There can be no room for sectarianism. Only through a strong display of broad mass base from the ground level the national democratic forces can persuade segment within the upper middle class and within the church that they can’t make it alone.

What is next for Gloria and her backend operators? Bribery? Assasinations?, disinformation?, bombings to divert attention?, jailing opposition within the military?, using Manny Pacquio to ask the public for unity amid corruption? using Atty. Pulido to file a weak empeachment so no other impeachment can be intertained? Reviving old cases like De Venecia to pressure him to toe the her line of unity?, pardoning Ninoy’s assassin? many more…

Visit at Google's Mountain View main campus - K.I.

I spent yesterday morning driving to Mountain View and visit Google campus. The idea was to see and feel the concept that Larry and Sergey had done. The campus was undoubtedly big.It occupied hectares of land. The landscape was splendid enough.  We went to a building and looked for their logo and took some pictures. The campus was designed in a fashion that fits the lifestyle of teenaagers. It was  really a campus. Programmers can hop from one building using bikes. The motif or color of the place resembled the color that google is using in their search engine.

After we visited the campus we went to Fremont and ate our lunch. We went to a Chinese buffet. I ate sea foods, lobster and many more.

Round up of news back home. Gloria and her PNP had released their script—that Glorietta bombing was not bombing at all but an accident, a methane gas build-up that caused the death of many people. Without furnishing Ayala Land with its findings, they now the conclusion. Of course this is simply a cover-up.

Sen. Trillanes want to summon Gringo Honasan just to prove that what he is undertaking is what people call selective persecution. Since Gringo is a close protégé of Juan Ponce Enrile who is supportive to Gloria, Gloria made sure that he will use Gringo to his political ends, divide and rule and continue to pacify let them kneel before her. The problem is Gloria won’t last. Everyday a critical mass of opposition is building on the streets, her operators are doing creative way to neutralize these.

There is an exodus of internal refugees in Mindanao specifically the areas where the indigeineous people’s live. Gloria’s fascist military destroying communities only to show that her Oplan Bantay Laya (Operation Freedom Watch) is working. But does it? She has to contend with international pressure, specially among churches abroad calling for her government to respect human rights.

I have made my conclusion that Americans gives more value in celebrating Thanksgiving than Christmas. Many friends of mine went to fly to other states to spend their holidays with relatives, immediate family and friends. Last Thanksgiving I went to observe the Blackfriday sales. I did woke up three o’clock in the morning and went to Bestbuy, Staples just to see the prices and the buying frenzy. Sure enough, I saw electronic items sold half the price. I bought two SD cards Scandisk Ultra II 2 GB at 17 dollars each. During normal days SD cards are sold at 35 dollars. I also bought 2 thin Motorola cellphones only at 6 dollars each. If I had money I should have bought a wide screen LCD 1080 Samsung TV and a Playstation3 half the price. At the shoe store the sale lasted only for 6 hours. Most of them offered a buy one take one offer. The resolution would be, prepare for next years Sales by saving some money.

Twisting arms -K.I.

Talking of twisting arms. Gloria imposes her own version of her story through her PNP that the incident that killed people at Glorietta was caused by a methane gas build-up and not a bomb aimed to divert national attention against her being investigated by the Senate and the public due to scandalous bribery and corruption. Of course the Ayala’s opposed it. Gloria was well served by this diversionary scheme last month. The bombing provided her a political breathing space. After the bombing she maneuvered to take the political initiative by calling “unity and reconciliation” amid her political isolation. Until now with US embassy support, the story line is presented to the public for acceptance.

Having some political breathing space she is now beset with new international pressure. Pressure coming from the master itself – the World Bank. The World Bank has ruled to suspend her loan access. Seems to me that World Banks position is a reaction to international pressure done by Filipino’s abroad. The pressure is picking up in the international community. Gloria’s fascist machinations are exposed aside from the fact she is now in question of various anomalous deals worth billions. A third party evaluator had put the Philippines as having one of the top corrupt government in the world. This makes the country’s credit rating very bad. Top news twisters like Cerge Remonde told the public yesterday that the temporarily non release was not accrued to the bad government credit rating but due to organizational transition within the banks regional leadership.

Bombing in Batasan had coopted the public and the Ayala's into silence. The Batasan incident provided Gloria and General Razon an opportunity to do media coup - K.I.

I was not born today. These PNP investigators are insulting Filipinos. The bombing in the Batasan was said to be "solved but not closed". They took a swift action pinning down on Abu Sayyaf as the culprits. Congress representative Gerry Salapudin has denied that those killed were not Abu Sayyaf members. The set-up was well staged. All evidences substanciating PNP’s line of findings are present. What is suspicious though was a presence of a woman who died in the raid. If indeed it was a Abu safe house no woman should has been found there. Abu's practicing extremist Islam prohibits woman from joining the group. Of course there are lapses to their set-up. There story is not perfect. Second, of all places why was the Batasan choosen as the killing zone? When it fact it has tight security. The ambush should have been done somewhere where security is not tight. Until now the puclic has not heard of investigation of the who are responsible with the security in the Batasan. The widow of of Martial Taldo, the driver of Congress representative Ilagan was right in saying that the PNP chosed to investigate outside rather than inside the Batasan.

The public is reminded that Gloria’s national security adviser in an interview after the bombing occurred said they have intelligence reports of bombing to occur. The question now is that was the raid a saving face for Mr. Gonzales given that the public is looking at Gloria as the suspect with the obvious questions about the timing amid the impeachment raps going on?

The bombing served as a total media coup on the part of the PNP. While Gloria after the incident occurred asked the public through her appeal in the media not to speculate, it was in fact her PNP that had done an hourly speculation. Even before they stepped in the crime scene, they have told repeatedly the public that it was the Abu Sayyaf that done it. Everyday PNP through General Razon’s office issues updates on the crime inorder to solidify public acceptance that the bombing was done by "terrorists". I understand now why in March 2007, Gloria sent General Avelino Razon to Washington D.C. to counter US Senate hearing on extrajudicial killing sponsored by Senator Barabara Boxer. General Razon is familiar with the workings of media being in the intelligence. For a short period of time, the Glorrieta bombing was side tracked through the bombing in Batasan. As a total media coup it had silenced the public and the Ayala’s into accepting that the bombing in Glorrieta was an accident and the bombing in the Batasan was done by "terrorists". Of course the political menu will not be perfect without Gloria's call for "unity and reconcialiation". This is Gloria's style of deterring her political isolation.

National security adviser of Gloria accused of masterminding the bombing in Makati and Batasan by his covert agent Ronald Ramos. - K.I.

When there is event that shakes the disposition of power either complementarily strengthen Gloria's position or otherwise weaken her hold due to counter reaction by the public, the Rasputin in Malacanang steps in. Who is this guy that I call Rasputin? - Norberto Gonzales -- Gloria's national security adviser. Seems strange what this guy advises the President and the President follows him. In the latest bombing that happened at the Batasan, Norberto claims again that he have received intelligence reports two day before it occurred. This person has no credibility at all. He obviously makes up story is a serial liar. Senator Sonny Trillanes had tagged him as the one of the person masterminding the bombing in Makati. Last month, he openly told the public after bombing at Makati that it was done by terrorists. Then days past retracted to support PNP's cover-up story that it was an accident, putting the burden on property owner of the mall.

But who is this guy? This guy is what I call a political swindler. Imagine, during the uprising in Edsa when Erap was booted out of power, in order to project his small ragtag group of PDSP, he made sure he distributed big banners to the crowd making it appear as if PDSP as a following. During the time when Marcos ruled the country he was a member of the light a fire movement that bombed Metro Manila. As Senator Sonny Trillanes said, this guy is a well trained terrorist.

Last year he was caught signing a contract without the knowledge of congress and senate, a deal that tried to hire lobbyist the US-based Venable LLP, one of America’s top 100 law firms, for a substantial sum of $75,000 a month, or $900,000 (P50.4 million) for 12 months. The idea was to contract this group for them to lobby Philippines re-inclusion in the credit facilities of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, secure a Philippine credit ratings upgrade in the US Eximbank, “create a capability enhancement program for the Armed Forces” and acquire up to $800 million in credit under the US Defense Loan Guarantee program, and “achieve a similar upgrade program” for the Philippine National Police. However he was under investigation that he vehemently denied undertaking it.

With the cold-blooded bombing happening around, this person is not operating under his own terms. With his connections and rabid fascist tendencies he will now be in hot waters given that he is now singled out by a witness under the protection of Senator Trillanes who had been working with him carry out dirty covert operations. Now, can the Senate investigate this?

Gloria is moving fast convening her own group to do the cover-up. An impartial third party group is needed to investigate all of these before its too late for another bombing to victimize innocent people.

Gloria through her PNP is using Wahab as a scapegoat, the same style as they did with the Ayala's.

Defintely Representative Wahab Akbar was not the target of the bombing. PNP laid that angle quickly before it even stepped in to do investigation. Wahab being a warlord from Mindanao should have been attacked long time ago and not within the premises of  the Batasan were security is tight. Thus this bombing was not ordinary. The bombing sent strong  political message.

Let us see what happened the day after the bombing.

1. Gloria had quickly convened and quasi government inter-agency task force purported to gather mass base support through “unity and reconciliation”. She even now includes the church aside of convincing beforehand the business community.

2. The US quickly steps in to volunteer to investigate. What seems surprising they did also helped do the investigation in Glorrieta  supported the PNP cover-up and scapegoating the Ayala’s that it was an accident.

3. Australia came up with a statement that terrorist are behind the bombing and issued travel advisory warning its citizens travelling to the Philippines.

On the other hand reactions comes strong after the bombing,

1.Filipinos have become distrustful to GMA. According to Pulse Asia survey it had reached 46%. There is a continuing political momentum calling for her resignation.

2. Bayan issued a statement that the bombing is a diversionary political tactic to derail the investigation of scams that Gloria and her clique did.

3. Strong condemnation coming from Filipinos abroad.

Gloria appeals for us not to speculate, but people see the obvious and the motive of the latest bombing in Congress - K.I.

Gloria, after the bomb blast at Batasan was defensive enough. She asked the public not to speculate or accuse her being responsible. This statement seems expected. One, the bombing in Glorrieta Mall had been covered up by her PNPamid the statement of Senator Sonny Trillanes that Norberto Gonzales, the Rasputin in Malacanang and her military has to do with it. In todays bombing, the timing was perfect that suits well Gloria political position. The bombing derails the impeachment calls inside congress and the call for her resignation. The bombing in Ayala had successfully served its purpose. It had neutralized calls to derail further investigation. It had scapgoated the Ayala’s through PNP findings and even the US embassy's. But who is to profit from this? Obviously Gloria and her group of cabal operating in Malacanang. The bombing specifically target a representative from Mindanao to make it appear that the terrorist like Abu Yassaf or Al Queda has something to do with it. For sure, PNP will hype this angle nonetheless.

The bombing yesterday sent a strong message to Congress. It sent the political message that even Congress reps can be targeted as collaterals only to netralize ongoing investigation such as ZTE deal, Hello Garci, Malacanang bribery, bombing in Glorrieta and many more, that her group of cabal operating in Malacanang will do anything to maintain themselves in power.

Yesterday, Bayan (Bagong alyansang Makabayan) or National Patriotic Alliance had filed its impeachment case against Gloria. Along those who filed were party list including Gabriela who in this latest bombing their representatives, Rep. Ilagan, the mother of my friend who used to work before with Earth Island, Tito. was a victim.

Being in the international community there is no question that Gloria is politically isolated. The US has made conditionalities for her US military aid tied up to human rights violations, the UN and churches had made their strong statement of condemnation against her fascist rule and many more. The only viable means for her to maintain herself in power is to take a tightened grip over her coersive machinery by following Machiavellian in her cabinet, creating raison de etre for her rule.

I would not heed Goria’s advise not to speculate. I would do otherwise. I speculate that:

1. Gloria will use this bombing to issue an emergency rule, which is a shortcut of strengthening her iron glove against those oppose her illegitimate rule.

2. Gloria through her police, the PNP, will again hype terrorist bombing and points its fingers to Abu Sayaff or Al Queda or even the NPA

3. Gloria will use this issue to derail national discussion in impeaching her leading to her resignation or ouster.

4. Gloria will use this to harp on calling for unity and sobriety amid continued restlessness to investigate her and her husband on the scams and deals they have made to maintain themselves in power.

It is important to watch and listen closely to Gloria’s operators. People working for her behind the scenes. These includes, Norberto Gonzales, General Esperon, Ermita or through her mouthpieces, Ignacio Bunye, Ronaldo Puno or her defense secretary.

A great example of fixing the tent to dismantle it later when the rain stops. Gloria of course wants the rain to continue.- K.I.

I recieved an email from a friend. He well said that the political situation in the Philippines is very much fluid. However I must add such fluidity seems to me is influenced by many factors. I will identify them.

1. US have stepped in to justify the cover-up made by Gloria and her clique that the Glorrieta bombing was an accident. Implication. This statement indicates an underhand attempt to contain the political effect of such controversy. However as a policy to contain such statement serves otherwise. Using the Ayala Management as the scapegoat escalates even further the antagonism. The Ayala’s trying to defy a cover-up had called its business allies to conduct an independent body to investigate it given that the initial findings of private foreign experts they have hired tells a different story.

2. Convergence of forces calling for Gloria and her cabal to resign. Seems to attract segments within the military recognizing the uphill impeachment battle in the lower house which is a numbers game.

3.Continued cover-up of bribery in Malacanang, from ZTE deal to Congressmen receiving money. Gloria deploys a cover story using her party Kampi as the distributor of the money. However the storyline is exposed as fake. Non Kampi congressmen also received bribes from 200,000 to 500,000 pesos.

4. US Senate leadership have put conditionalities to giving US military aid to the Philippines amid the call to address extra-judicial killings of the Gloria’s clique. Gloria put in a defensive mode responded her lame justification that its not a policy of the government to engage in violating human rights amid the fact its continued implementation of Operation Freedom Watch 2 (Oplan Bantay Laya 2).
Implication. This indicates the de facto recognition of the US on human rights violation committed by Gloria and her regime. Indicated too the growing contradiction within US policy makers how to proceed and address the popular call to stop its interventionist involvement in third world affairs and the war in Iraq. (note, there is continued reports of abductions, torture and extra-judicial killings of Filipinos opposing Gloria’s regime. These reports are sent in by local churches in the Philippines to the international pressure groups such as Amnesty International and etc. Gloria’s trouble shooting by sending Ermita to New York did not work trying to neutralize the Alston report. )

5. Former Philippine President General Fidel Ramos and present speaker of the lower house, Joe de Venecia maintains a proactive concession stance by forging a temporary alliance. Creating an illusion of unity this buys time for ground level broadening call of anti-Arroyo forces to consolidate and align its forces to oust Gloria. This is a great example of fixing the tent to dismantle it later when the rain stops. Gloria of course wants the rain to continue.

6. Gloria’s continued puppetry to US imperialism. All means are done by her clique to accommodate possible arrangements. Continued accommodation to host joint military exercises. Trashing possible barriers for US capital to flow in order to exploit cheap labor and Philippine natural resources, and many more by issuing executive orders.

7. Continued Filipino organizing from different parts of the world to support the call to oust Gloria. Implication. There is a convergence of local overseas contract workers issues such as immigrant issues to the call to oust Gloria in the Philippines.
