Commentators never focused on the idea that the revolutionary fervor is well alive in our country amid the fascist dictatorship maintained by Gloria Macapagal Arroyo at the helm. This is also coupled with the series of desperate attempts to silence protests by the people and the determined killings and assassinations that is taking place in regions victimizing leaders in the open mass movement. There is also the rehash of the old political line that “communism” and there proponent organizations such as the Communist Party and their army, the New People’s Army have lost their relevance quoting rabid anti-communist or pseudo people’s group, like the personalities of Etta Rosales or Ed dela Torre who is closely associated with the civil society movements like IPD. It does not surprise me when they commented that the left deserves being killed or the main left represented by the NDF is passé and only to attack Jose Maria Sison. My take in all these are desperate attempts of the media spin doctors of GMA sidestep the main issue which is her illegitimate hold to power.
