Filipinos share Manny's jubilant victory

I have no doubt Manny will win and indeed he won. Boxing is a game of advertising and drama. The last time I saw him fight was in a gathering of Filipino programmers in Pleasanton with my brother. His co-worker at Peoplesoft then now Oracle had his son’s birthday party. He invited his programmer friends and my brother a big fan of Manny brought along his TV in his friends house and set up it for them so everybody can see the fight. Unfortunately Manny lost to Morales. Everybody were disgusted and we immediately turned off the TV and continued with the get together as they celebrate the party. I said to myself, Filipinos are just really desperate to see new heroes, heroes that that uplift them up amid the poverty wallowing the country, the massive graft and corruption and how GMA has the guts to stand in front of the Filipino people speaking as president when in fact she had rigged the election through massive cheating. Because Filipinos are desperate to see real heroes they would spend money and time just to visit Manny and watch him do the routine preparatory exercises for the fight. It seems not new, that the ruling classes would use Manny’s popularity to catapult themselves to power, some use it to sustain their waning popularity. So when Manny went home and won the fight against Morales, GMA had only to accommodate him, prepare gimmicks only to grab the attention and ride on Manny popularity. Some politicians who had pockected a lot of peoples money even fly out to Las Vegas and see it for themselves. For me, Manny is a typical representative of Filipino identity. He is the person that every poor Filipino can identify with. He has fought his way out of poverty just like a lot of Filipino Overseas Contract Workers (OFWs) who left the country just to earn money inorder to send their children to school and bring home the beacon, to the working classes whose everday life is to fight poverty, the jeepney drivers in Manila, the peasants in the rural areas who had to work in big plantations when its season time to plant sugarcanes and other export crops by corporations and the rest of the poor working classes, teachers, government employees. Manny’s victory is seen as the victory of Filipinos indeed in a situation when Filipinos had been knocked downed many times with opportunist political grabbers, the likes of GMA.

Ask immediately for Ka Roger's assistance

Capt. Nic is recaptured. It’s unfortunate. He is now put back in solitary confinement. Put inside in the dangeon of GMA's prison walls. We pray for him that nothing will put harm on him. We pray he remain steadfast in the midst of torture by the fascist military organization he aims to reform. For me, this is a hard lesson to us and those who seriously opposing GMA. As always I ask everybody including the close comrades of Capt. Nic to rely on the masses as ever as we move. The masses will be there to protect you and me. GMAand the class she represents will do whatever it takes to maintain themselves in power. As the ruling class celebrates his capture there will be a lot of Capt. Nics in the ranks of junior officer waiting to act. In his website, Capt. Nic and his comrades had never given up and will not give up. Ins a matter of time that the people will free them out of jail. In contrast Ka Roger would never do any move to step inside the belly of the ruling classes, the cities and move around for a long period of time. It is there that the bastion of power the comprador and landlord classes are located. It is in the cities that they live. It is there that their resources are situated. Name it they have it. It takes millions upon millions of people to fight the establishment. People are just so important. They are in fact even beyond importance because this is their struggle. They are the determinant and decisive in factor and element in overturning tables upside down. It takes solid organizing among the masses of people to be invincible and elusive. I think the postive lesson here is when one bolts out of the prison, never do it on your own for a long time. Always rely on the masses . It is their stake here that is addressed. This is their struggle. You and me are simply part of it. Since the junior officers have less organized mass base to speak of, it would be advisable to go directly to the the countrysides. General Jarque did it years past. It is the group of Ka Roger that has the most organized masses of peoples. To those junior officers who are serious in challenging GMA, ask for Ka Roger's help. He has the immense authority and power to protect you. In the meantime, people should now organize themselves to demand Capt. Nic to be out of the prison. Free Capt. Nic! Free the junior officers imprisoned by GMA and her cohorts of gangsters! We call to stop GMA's fascist rule! We shout, oust GMA and her corrupt government! No to military junta! Establish a transition council of the people. Support courageous soldiers against GMA! Let us unite and fight! Call on Civil disobedience against GMA's regime. Let us all act now!

Using state (peoples money) resources to pacify and coopt

After the State of the Council meeting which was an attempt to coopt leaders to Arroyo's agenda, she had now transferred his head of her personal guards, Grig. Delfin Bangit. In the move to pacify and insult the the military rank and file she went to a dramatic "surprise visit" which actually is not a surpirse to us, at Camp Aguinaldo to announce the release of 1.5 billion pesos for housing projects for soldiers. This is a sure fire move to pacify and coopt ordinary citizens, ordinary soldiers for her political means? Her moves is just so predictable. GMA's have done this before with the giving away of millions by stashing out the money from the DAR budget intended for the farmers fertilizer subsidy and distributed them to congressmen so she'll not be impeached way back months ago. With the obviousness of her motives I doubt giving away projects for hosuing will buy her in the sympathy and respect among ordinary military men. She in fact is digging more deeper her grave, her immediate ouster.

Ernie Baron dies, goodbye Ernie

Ernie Baron dies. I remember at the RMP office in Quezon City, our office mate Tes would tell me she had a triangle antennae made into a pyramid and sold by Ernie. People put water in the middle of it and stay for a while and then drink it. Tes told me its a medicinal water with the powers just like the pyramid of Egypt. That was Ernie's invention. He also have Barons antennae. I also remember him when I'm bored surfing the internet at home, would listen to his AM radio show in the evening and hear him talk and answer questions people ask him over the phone. Sometimes he does not answer them directly. For me, though he sounds I little bit weird. Looking at hindsight though his inventions did not save him from his diabetes and the complications it brought. The man must have been desperate of saving money. At any rate I like him becomes he is just funny. We see him forcasting the days weather at Channel 2. I would laugh sometimes seeing him on TV because his wig is sometimes not well positioned over his head and he moves differently also.

Its foolish for the Generals to tell the public that the AFP is neutral

The Generals says that the AFP is remain neutral and apolitical. They would announce this in time of crisis when restiveness is seen and felt within the military machinery. In fact what they are saying acutally is far from reality and its the opposite. The truth is that military as a whole is part of the total coersive state machinery, a machinery that protects ans serves the status quo. It is a machinery that serves to protect GMA and her administration, those in power who hold the political reigns. It is foolish for the Generals to tell the public that they are neutral. How can they be neutral when they have offered the public with a bounty just to entice people, the public to give leads and capture soldiers who are telling the truth? Is that neutral? It is definite not. As as matter fact, it shows their desperate attempts to cover the truth When the suns sets, GMA cannot sleep in her bed knowing that there is a brewing discontent among the rank and file of his supposed soldiers.

When I was viewing the movie, the The man in the iron mask, I saw some parallelism in what will happen in the coming months. In that the story conveys that an evil and illegimate power can never be sustained. The King was replaced through an inside manuvering by people close to the King himself. It also show that successful revolts are characterized by long lulls and silence. Then all of the sudden erupts like a volcano with the political lava splashing the face of the ruling elites.

It alos shows how coordination are made in and out of the state machinery by people who wants change. It was a silent endeavor of organizing iroder to overthrow a corrupt government. In the final analysis it would be foolish for revolutionaries also to strike at the heart and weakness of the Arroyo regime without people support. It require a good combination of forces, in and outside. Presently, as things goes it is the silence that bothers Arroyo, the direction that people wants, a the transition government. It bothers even Gen. fidel Ramos since it means an opportunity for the poor to overhual key areas in the economy that benefited so much his patrons and clients. As of this wrting I do not know what Capt. Nic is after.
All I know is that the revolutionary forces composed mostly of peasants in the rural areas through Ka Roger is giving them a sanctuary. I hope they will listen to the calls of the people-- Unite and overthrow the US- Arroyo regime.

No reshuffling and redeployment of her key political operators can stop the growing call to oust her

No reshuffling and change of point person in key administrative areas in government such as the DILG and the chief of staff can stop the growing anger and determination of the masses of people. If GMA believes that with her bratpacks, by deploying his best culprits within his gangster of usurpers in Malacanang she is wrong to assume that. She can probably hold some areas important in neutralizing mass movement by deploying counter mobilizations through the resources of the DILG, but she cant hold the flow of protest to oust her. As most mobilizations spearheaded by government through the used of government funds and network from local government, most people participating in mobilizations to counter genuine protest mobilizations are in fact are also desperate of money because of poverty. Who is not desperate when they hire people to join mobilizations paid 200 (3.5 dollars) pesos to 300 (5.35 dollars) to buy a kilo of rice and some food for the families. In mobilizations using people coming from different barangay using the resources of the local government it would be in actual people gets lower pay than then with all the cuts made by the middleman recruiters such as the barangay captains. Putting Ronnie Puno in this position will also spell a lot of mobilization on the local level to counter people power. I can speculate, together with Mike Defensor and Ronnie Puno, the plot will be implemented just as they rigged during the last elections during planning in the war room to edge themselves and grab power at best at the local precinct areas. Ronnie for sure through the years of consulting and advisor ship of how to maintain and advance political had already grasp the key areas which to hold on to, and definitely one of the strategic institutional power is the DILG position. So when Ronnie sits in the position, we will be seeing counter mobilizations via the DILG, more troubleshooting in the local level to hold back the tilting of the balance of power and alignment in the local level. However to do this, we should watch where the money will be going. For sure political operations such as this requires huge amount of funds. With all the regressive taxations she is doing (regressive taxations means taxing the poor and not the rich) she will be having more money use in that project. However, still what determines the outcome will not be pure disposition of resources like money, but most of all, the number of people that will participate in mobilizations. As she is becoming unpopular among the masses. The growing restiveness within the military, and the eventual support coming from the middle class she will have a hard time in controlling her political power. For us in the oust movement, we then have to speed up our campaigns. It means more effort in doing organizing among the people, more time spent in unmasking and exposing her anti-people policies by linking issues in the the ordinary lives of people, EVAT, low wages, high fuel prices, unaffordable tuition fees in schools for our children, the pocketing of money and rechanneling them to his local political defenders and apologist and etc.. The people have to move fast to neutralize GMA’s diabolical gameplan. Now you may ask now, who planned the fireworks bombing near the house of Ronnie Zamora and the office of Mike Arroyo at the TA Building in Manila's financial district of Makati last december 2005? Well I will not answer it, it is too obvious you see.

Well accepted Mike, they will fight you fire with fire, be prepared

So there you go. The young military officers accepted Michael Defensor's boostful challenge of "fight fire with fire. Can Michael really fire that gun or he merely just parrots what his bosses says. Its easy for people like him to say those words when they do not feel how it is to be in the battle zone or how it is to be in the battle field. People with no combat experience at all would will easily say those things. The battle tested patriotic soldiers have accepted his challenge making sure Mike Defensor will be the first to be hit. The inquirer news tags these soldiers as "rogue". For me Capt. Nic and the rest of the group who bolted out of GMA's prison are not rogues at all. It is GMA in fact and his cohorts, those are considered rogue ( - a dishonest or worthless person ). They invite people to rise against them with their anti-people policies of globalization, militarization and fascist rule breeding graft and corruption in the very heart and core of state governance.

Ramos, the US pointman has this to say

General Fidel Ramos is mad with what the junior officers did, escape from GMA's prison walls. The possibility of patriotic soldiers coming together to oust his client upsets his whole gameplan. His cha-cha manuever to let GMA's rule, with himself as the Prime Minister is in the brink of being trashed out. On the other hand with all these ,we now see junior officers more political astute having a clear political positiion against GMA's regime. Ramos assures the ruling classes who's business is to exploit poor people, not to panic, keep calm, while GMA and him will pound the seats of their generals, pressure them to capture soldiers who escaped as immediately as possible. To assure the business associates they would call on everbody to keep calm, recite the mantra "business as usual".

Sensenbrenner Bill Will Spell Disaster for Immigrants in the US

Filipinos Oppose Passage of US HR 4437; Sensenbrenner Bill Will Spell Disaster for Immigrants in the US-- BAYAN USA

New York/San Francisco-- The national alliance of Filipino organizations inthe US known as BAYAN USA is strongly urging Filipinos in the US to oppose the possible passage of US House Resolution 4437, otherwise known as the Border Protection, Anti-Terrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005 (Sensenbrenner Bill), which is up for review by the Senate Judiciary Committee this February and hits the Senate floor for a vote this coming March 2006. Such a bill poses staunch anti-immigrant state action that will devastate the over 3 million Filipinos living in the United States today.

"The Sensenbrenner Bill is perhaps the most state-repressive bill to hit US imigrant communities in since 9/11. It will surely effect all Filipinos in the US, whether you are documented or not, in an oppressive way," states BAYAN USA Chair Kawal Ulanday.

Amongst the most criticized points of the bill, which passed 239-182 in the US House of Representatives last December 16, 2005, are:

* the "unlawful presence" of undocumented persons would now be considered as a crime and felony, with the perpetrators subject to jail time and barred from future legal status and from re-entry into the country

* Immigrants, including asylum-seekers, victims of human trafficking, victims of domestic abuse, and children who are apprehended along an international border or at a port-of-entry would be detained until such time as they are removed from the nation or otherwise provided immigration relief.

* Anyone or any organization who "assists" an individual without documentation "to reside in or remain" in the United States knowingly or with "reckless disregard" as to the individual's legal status would be liable for criminal penalties and five years in prison.

"Let us not be fooled into thinking this will curb the undocumented phenomenon in this country, of which Filipinos number over 1 million, or defeat terrorism for that matter. This bill is an assault on all immigrants, their families, and friends in the US. It will enforce an unprecedented peak
in state-imposed martial law against immigrants since the US Patriot Act was passed," Ulanday stated.

BAYAN USA asserted that undocumented population in this country will not cease to grow under such oppressive laws. Filipinos and other low-income migrant populations are forced into a life of exploited undocumented status here in the US because of a fiscal crisis made possible under the design of unjust and elitist global economic policies-- policies authored by the US corporate elite, enforced by the Bush administration and its US puppet regimes in developing nations. For Filipinos, this translates to the record-breaking fiscal crisis made possible by the US puppet Gloria
Macapagal-Arroyo that has made it impossible for Filipinos to survive in their own homeland.

"A just and lasting solution to the undocumented phenomenon must first and foremost address its global economic roots. It will never be solved by criminalizing migrants and making them suffer through the government's opportunistic usage of the word 'terrorist' in order to justify sucking in
billions of tax-dollars towards so-called defense spending to the deprivation of the American people in desperate need of genuine social services." Ulanday continued.

BAYAN USA cited the battle for comprehensive pro-people immigration reform that promotes civil rights, liberties, economic and social welfare for all peoples is a battle that belongs to all US taxpayers.

"The US is a nation of immigrants and workers. The Bush administration and its cohorts in legislature are lobbying for this bill not in the interest of Americans, but to expand the climate of fear that has legitimized a profit-making and sensationalized 'war on terror' within our own borders, at
the expense of our lives, the lives of our families, and our tax dollars."

BAYAN USA and its allies called for critical community opposition to the bill. "Those who stand for civil rights and liberties, no matter who you are, must let their Senators know they do not support this bill." Aside from massive letter-writing and petition-signing to senatorial reps, BAYAN USA vowed to increase national protest and community education on the bill throughout this year. "It will be up to the Filipino people to make their opposition felt not only in Senate, but more importantly on the streets," Ulanday ended.

Depicting GMA as a rabbit with big teeth

This is a picture that depicts GMA as a rabbit with big teeth making a joke of her. Everyday people just comes to realize that she is a problem. She's good in diverting issues to confuse people as in her agenda to change the constitution just to stay in power. However she has a problem of sustaining her deception. The people are just so creative that in their mobilizations such as this one. Probably for an ordinary person one would  stop and think, yes, GMA is like that! She's just so mean to all and never and cheated her way to the top. I think its high time for us to drive her away from Malacanang. She had glued her butt in that presidential throne and never wants to stand up again. She has a  look in her eyes being so greedy and selfish when you see her in newpapers. The people will continue to haunt her.
